Year 2024. Internet exists. Smartphones, social media, streaming — all present. But the AI revolution never happened. No language models, no chatbots, no generative art, no algorithmic content farms. Humanity walks a different path: slower, messier, more human. Information is still abundant, but creation requires effort. Trust is harder to fake. Truth is harder to fabricate. The world grapples with its own very human problems — politics, inequality, climate, meaning — without the ghost of artificial minds muddying the waters.
