The Ash Ledger

A fan-made dark fantasy that drops the household of Kim Bình Mai — the lecherous official Tây Môn Khánh and the sisters led by Phan Kim Liên — and the people of Truyện Kiều — Thúy Kiều, sold to save her father, her twin Thúy Vân, the jealous Hoạn Thư, and the oath-breaking seducer Sở Khanh — into an original world where every killing, vow, and act of desire leaves a residue that can be harvested, recorded, and bound. In the valley, marriage contracts turn wives into vessels of stored residue; on the mountain, a cremation order controls the ledgers that decide whose endings are allowed to end. To become free here is to erase your own entry in the ledger before someone else writes it for you.
